Who are we, and how did we get here?
About us
When we met and married we both had ‘wanderlust’. But, like many, we fell into the career and mortgage trap of being an Adult and found ourselves permanently on the Rat Race treadmill.
So Twenty years ago we moved from the South of England to Wales.
It didn’t quite work out as we had planned, and when a ‘working from home contract’ (when these were unique and not the norm), was offered, it was taken, thinking that the support that a couple of years of London salary would be helpful whilst we sorted ourselves out.
Those couple of years turned into 15 years!
Before we knew it the young daughter we had moved to Wales with, was Graduating from University.
It felt like there would never be a better time to travel, so we bought ‘Flo’ our motorhome and left for France and Spain. Later the same year we left again for three months to drive to Greece and return via Bulgaria, and Hungary.
Time away in Europe was great, but also left us more appreciative of the UK.
So we resolved to see more of our home landscapes when we were back in the country. Whilst we still travel all over the UK and occasionally further afield, Wales is our home and so a desire to know it better and to share its secrets was how The Wales Way Website was born.
